Rotary Volunteers: Project WR103

Rotary projects provide a range of opportunities to volunteer overseas.  Information on Volunteering is provided in the YOU CAN HELP section of this website or contact Western Region's Volunteers Coordinator, Peter McKenzie on volunteers@western.rawcs.org.au

Rotarians from Western Region can volunteer on a number of Western Region projects (e.g. Project WR602-2008 is raising funds for Integrated School Improvement at 10 schools in Nepal, and also needs volunteers able to provide teacher training in those schools).

They can also volunteer on projects managed by other Regions and by Rotary International.  Some examples of other projects include:

  • The School of St Jude, in Tanzania (a RAWCS Eastern Region project);  and
  • National Immunization Days, supporting Polio Plus in India (Rotary International)

To assist in this process, we have allocated Project Number WR103 to cover such projects.

Volunteers' expenses including air fares are tax-deductible, provided they are in accordance with RAWCS policy and the expenses are paid by funds passed through the RAWCS accounts.

If you are volunteering for a Western Region project, quote the Western Region project number (e.g. for the Nepal project quoted above, WR602-2008).  If you are volunteering for another RAWCS or Rotary International project, use the project number WR103.
